Small Bathroom, Big Impact: Bold Wallpaper + Bright Design

Some homes have that one space that feels a little neglected—and for this family, it was their half bathroom. Tucked off the main living area, the powder room had dark finishes, a heavy brown color scheme, and tile countertops that were impossible to keep clean. It felt out of place compared to the rest of their light and airy home, and my clients knew it was time for a change.
When they reached out, their goal was clear: they wanted a space that reflected the same charm and personality as the rest of their home, while also being practical and easy to maintain.
Before:
We replaced the hard-to-clean tile countertops, swapping them for modern, low-maintenance quartz. We also upgraded the toilet to one that worked better and fit the new look. Out went the heavy brown palette, replaced with a crisp blue and white color scheme that instantly brightened the room. A bold floral wallpaper became the star of the design, adding personality and charm.

In the end, this uninspired bathroom has become a true statement space. The coastal color palette and playful wallpaper brought it to life, while the updated finishes made it just as practical as it is beautiful.

Powder rooms may be small, but they carry a lot of weight in a home. They’re often used by guests, and they can set the tone for the rest of the house. By transforming this dark, dated bathroom into a bright and airy space with a coastal vibe, my clients now feel more confident when hosting company.

This project is a great reminder that even the smallest rooms deserve thoughtful interior design. With the right finishes and bold choices—like wallpaper—you can create a space that elevates your entire home.
